The Greatest Team of All Time? 16 in '16 Tournament Has an Answer The debate over the greatest MLB team of all time will never end, but we thought we'd take a shot at settling the score with the 16 in '16 Tournament. An all-star selection committee consisting of Tim Kurkjian (ESPN), Neil Paine (FiveThirtyEight), Mark Simon (ESPN), Brian Kenny (MLB Network), and other luminaries chose the top 12 seeds, with fans voting for the clubs filling the final four slots. We used OOTP 17's new Historical Series feature for each tournament match-up, with the higher seed receiving "Home Era" advantage, which meant, for example, that when the 1986 New York Mets hosted the 1906 Chicago Cubs, a dead ball era club found itself thrust into modern baseball.
